It seems that the hot competition in the Indian telecom sector is taking a toll on the state-owned BSNL. The Telecom Operator has amended its Special Tariff Voucher (STV) for INR 29, which is reducing the benefits so far. On the bright side, the discounted benefits of the Weekly Recharge scheme are still better than the other telecom operators.
Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel are the other big players of the telecommunications industry, who are struggling to maintain the bio-disruptive aggressive pricing and 4G proposals. For its credit, Geo is hardly providing decent 4G data speeds with any connectivity issues, while Idea and Vodafone, who have formed the merger, are still receiving many service complaints.
BSNL Still Smart At Recharge Plans
Note that BSNL does not provide 4G data service, whereas all other private telecommunications operators mentioned here have given you theoretically faster network. He said, if you do not make any difference in using 3G speed, then BSNL offers Smart Recharge schemes, and we have already informed about it earlier. In this revised STV 29 plan, you now get 1 GB daily data, unlimited calling and total 300 SMS, with the same validity: 7 days. However, the benefits introduced earlier were very good: 2 GB daily data, 100 SMS per day (700 per week), and unlimited calling.
Shift up to 4G and an increase in cost. The best weekly plan costs INR 52, and it provides only 70 SMSes and 140 MB of data per day. Airtel charges you even more – INR 59 – and gives 1 GB of data and 100 SMS per day. Vodafone Idea is not in this race, because it does not provide such a weekly recharge. There is a plan of INR 47, but it comes with the validity of 28 days.
In addition, BSNL has reduced the 2GB data presented on the INR 9 recharge plan, and it now provides 1 GB data in line with Vodafone Idea’s plan for the same amount. This plan is valid for one day, or till the midnight of the day when you recharge it. Also, note that the STV 29 recharge plan by BSNL does not provide free unlimited calling in the Delhi and Mumbai circles, which is a bomber.
BSNL 4G Coming To Telangana, Northeast
At the beginning of October, BSNL confirmed that it will launch 4G services in some circles. These include three North Eastern states and Telangana. Thanks to the private players, 4G services are already available in Telangana as well as in Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura, but their access to three northeastern states is less. BSNL hopes to make a bank and take it on, but its 4G service rollout is still a few months away.
Recently, BSNL launched its first 4G service in Maharashtra, and the speed was equivalent to industry standards. Unfortunately for BSNL, it has recently received government approval to use the 4G spectrum, so it will still take some time to be stable in that market. As long as this happens, if things are planned, maybe you will be ready with your 5G service. As we had said earlier, Jio wants to get the auction of 5G spectrum, but the government may take some more time to allow other telecom operators to prepare for the work. Live is doing well, but the telecommunications industry is otherwise suffering because it is burdened with debt of more than 7 lakh crores.
